back from the gobi
being back in ulaan baatar from 12 days in the gobi i have to admit that i enjoyed a nice long shower.
we started on 29th in the morning according our time schedule but the first surprise was already waiting: due to the weather our driver found it too danger to do the route like we planned it. so we started in the other direction first and did the tour backwards.
our first night was in a tent with hills and meadows around. we prepared half of our chickenlegs, wrapped it into aluminium foil and put it into our fire. for the fire we used a bit of wood and a lot of dung ... which gave the cloth a special smell. ;-)
second day we visited a monastery. maybe i should say we visited what was left or rebuild after the revolution.
the third day started nicely with a drive through alpine area. on that day i learned how to repair a flat tire on my own. i also learned how hard work it is to fill the tire with 2.8 bar. the driver bata told me that we have to pump 1000 times with our manual air pump. because it was hard work the bata and i had to drink a lot of wodka in between. anyhow after 1000 pumps we had only 2.5 bar which was finally also enough. collecting the dung was more fun with all the wodka. :)) i found a small shit and big piece of shit. sentences like " i get the shit out of this country" or " look, i got a really big piece of shit" came to my minds. christine prepared a really nice dinner. the third team member (no name for him) was drunk in his tent and didn't need any food.
next day this third team member gpt more and more troublesome, was complaining about everything, offended us, ... and got so drunk that he finally wasn't able to build his tent anymore. he couldn't barely stand on his legs. next day we drove him back to the last city and asked him to leave. after all the cost was settled christine, bata and i continued our trip much more relaxed.
this story will be continued soon...

Great to hear of your update. Loved the photos of the camel, different looking ones. What was that one large camel doing to the llama or smaller camel?! haha.
Hallo Heidi,
kannst Du mir bitte das Auto mitbringen??
